Ellipsis, Living Throne of the Empress Calyo Delphi (also known as Athenai Ellipsis) is a living rubber naga-type creature inhabiting the Imperial Palace. It also serves as the Imperial Scrivener, helping manage documentation for the Empress in her course of duty and for the citizens of the Empire.
Background
Ellipsis began existence as a living rubber creature, relatively unaware of Synthetica and its inhabitants. It always possessed a strong sense of wanderlust, so it inevitably happened upon the Empress in her travels. It was not long before Ellipsis found itself a regular at Empress Calyo’s palace, then pledged property of the Empress herself. Its preferred position of heaped coils underneath its owner effectively led to its designation as the Empress’s Living Throne.
Living Throne of the Empress
Ellipsis was designated as Empress Calyo Delphi’s Living Throne at her behest. As such, the naga’s accumulated coils serve as a mobile throne for the Empress wherever and whenever the need for formal (or informal) seating should arise. Empress Calyo bestowed the gift of her living rubber upon her toy and throne, allowing her to call it forth when required.
Imperial Scrivener
As the Living Throne of the Empress, Ellipsis is frequently close to Imperial business as it happens. It took on the role of Scrivener to help aid Empress Calyo in documentation of events and transactions, as well as the maintenance of the Imperial Codex.
